Charlie, fondly known as Pop, was a foundation shareholder and a member of the Westerberg family who started the station with the Birss family. Pop helped with building most of the brick wall foundations with Ron Birss. He started building a house but after one season he preferred fishing and pulled the partly built house down and moved it to Cheynes Beach.
