Are there real whales at Whale World?
During July to October, Southern Right whales and Humpbacks can be seen close to Whale World during their migration. Whale World has no captive Whales.
Are there sharks at Whale World?
Again, no captive animals are housed at Whaleworld, but there are live sharks living in King George Sound.

Are there pictures of real whales?
Whale World has a vast collection of Photographs. The Parry Gallery in the Visitor Centre houses the Richard Ellis Marine Mammal paintings, there are also photographs throughout the museum and the Colin Green Heritage Gallery houses the Ed Smidt 54 photo collection.

Could the harpoon gun in the museum still be used?
Not in it's current state - parts of the gun were removed to make it safe for public viewing.
Is Whale World still used for whaling?
Whale World is situated on the site of the last commercial whaling station, The Cheynes Beach Whaling Company. The last whale killed by the Cheynes Beach Whaling Company was on the 20th November 1978. Australia has a total ban on commercial whaling and the export of any whale product.
